Lens color changes according to the amount of UV.
Lens color changes according to the amount of UV light. Transition lenses get darker when exposed to more UV light while the color becomes lighter when there is less UV light. This unique property allows Transition lenses to be used as both regular glasses and sunglasses. Do note that the lenses get clearer more slowly compared to when they get darker. The color change is caused by the intensity of UV light and not the brightness of the surrounding.

These are standard Transitions lenses that offer lens colour intensity based on the amount of UV light. Since the lenses are activated by UV light, they do not change colour when exposed to sunlight through the windscreen of a car.
Light-Adaptive Transition Lenses
(1.60 Aspheric Lenses)
Light-Adaptive Transition Lenses respond to both UV light and visible light. They are activated by sunlight through the windshield and become darker outdoors compared to regular Transitions lenses.
- Please note that the actual tint may vary depending on UV exposure.
- Normal and photo color types do not change color through UV-blocking glass, such as in cars.
- It may take some time for the lenses to transition from dark to light.
